A SAFER WORLD FOR ALL

Every day, millions of people do not experience the world as a safe place to live.

In our media, we learn of increasing numbers of people in the world experiencing vulnerability. More people than ever before are becoming refugees or being displaced within their own countries. Civilians, including children, are experiencing violent conflict. Millions are going hungry because of climate change and/or conflict. Many people have additional vulnerabilities such as being elderly, having disabilities, or being part of an ethnic minority.

ABM and AID’s partners in Myanmar and Gaza face ongoing conflict which has put countless civilians at risk of displacement and has seen thousands die and many more injured, often with life-long effects.

Our partners in other countries are adversely affected by climate change, poverty, and social injustice.

Micah Australia and the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) have launched a new “Safer World for All” campaign. This campaign seeks to, “focus our nation on our generosity… for the world’s most vulnerable, the urgent need to protect our environment, and the power of creating fairer systems that include the world’s poorest nations.”

The campaign presents us all with a way to connect and engage in actions that can change the world for the better, as we advocate for God’s peace, hope, and justice.

You can visit the campaign website at https://saferworld.org.au/ to learn more or to take vital action to make the world, including Australia, a safer place for all.

ABM’s Anglicans in Development is a member of both ACFID and Micah Australia. Micah is an Australian Christian advocacy organisation that focuses on raising awareness of key issues in international development from an Australian perspective. ACFID is the peak body of Australian international development organisations.
