ABM’s 2024 Lenten Study being used in Adelaide prisons

Mar 6, 2024

ABM’s Lenten study, God’s Own Country — First Nations Voices Speak to the Church, is being studied this Lent by about 50 prisoners from Yatala Labour Prison, Cadell Training Centre, and Adelaide Women’s Prison, all in South Australia.

This was made possible through a link between ABM, St Jude’s Anglican Church, Brighton, and Senior Coordinating Chaplain, Craig Bossie.

Jack Monaghan, Case Management Coordinator at Yatala Labour Prison, and a ministry formation student at St Jude’s Anglican Church, Brighton has been in contact with the prison chaplains. Jack said, “When I was there the chaplains were very impressed with the quality and the content of the Lenten studies and have been directing them with prisoners in the three prisons. From what I can gather, the best thing about the studies is that they are relatable to First Nations People and given that there are still high Indigenous incarceration rates, this makes the study more relevant than ever before.”

You are invited to join St Jude’s in praying for prisoners and prisons this Lent.

You can order PDF or hard copies of this wonderful study, which can be read during Lent, or at any time, here:
