Update from Aunty Gloria Shipp

Jul 28, 2025

In the heart of western NSW, Aunty Gloria Shipp continues to be a guiding light for Aboriginal Christian ministry. Her leadership and dedication were on full display at the Nyngan Christian Rally 2025, a vibrant weekend of worship, testimony, and community connection.

Organised with assistance from ABM’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mission Grants, the rally began on Friday night with a Youth Group gathering led by Isacc and Paul from River Convention. Young people from Brewarrina, Moree, and Dubbo shared moving testimonies and sang with passion, setting the tone for a deeply spiritual weekend.

Under Aunty Gloria’s warm and steady guidance, Saturday featured more singing and sharing, with Paul preaching from Exodus. A shared lunch brought everyone together, followed by an evening of joyful fellowship and a delicious dinner.

Sunday morning saw a combined church service that welcomed the broader community. After lunch, heartfelt goodbyes were exchanged, with many expressing gratitude for the opportunity to connect and grow in faith.

“This could not have happened without the generous giving and donations from ABM,” Aunty Gloria shared. “We’ve already locked in next year’s rally for the June Long Weekend 2026, and we’re praying for continued support.”

Aunty Gloria’s tireless work continues to inspire and uplift the communities where she works. Her commitment to reconciliation, spiritual growth, and cultural celebration remains a cornerstone of Walkabout Ministries.
