How your Good Friday Gift 2025 is Making a Difference in Jordan

Mar 25, 2026

Last year, supporters from around Australia gave generously to the Good Friday Gift. Thanks to your compassion, over $30,000 was raised in a wonderful show of solidarity with our brothers and sisters in the Holy Land.

The funds were used by the Diocese of Jerusalem to make much-needed renovations to Saviour School in Zarka, Jordan. This school teaches over 250 students from kinder to Year 12, and is the only school in the city offering an inclusive education for children who are blind or visually impaired.

Here is what the Good Friday Gift 2025 made possible…

A Safer Place to Play and Learn

Funds raised were used to renovate the school’s outdoor courtyard. Previously cracked and uneven, the area has now been transformed into a safe and accessible space where students can run and play with confidence.

The project included:

  • Replacing the old cracked and uneven surface with a safe new surface
  • Installing drainage systems to prevent water pooling during the rainy season
  • Installing artificial grass to make the ground safer, particularly for students with vision impairments

These changes have created a courtyard that is not only safer, but also more welcoming for daily school life.

Children and teachers now have five freshly renovated classrooms that are bright, comfortable and conducive to learning.

Thanks to you, the school was able to:

  • Replace old floor tiles with new durable, non-slip tiles
  • Re-plaster classroom walls and ceilings to repair cracks, and repaint.
  • Upgrade electrical components of classrooms, including adding three new power points per classroom
  • Repair doors and windows.

ABM AID would like to sincerely thank supporters for your generosity towards the Good Friday Gift 2025.

Because of you, Saviour School is now a brighter, cleaner and safer haven of learning for the 258 students, 30 teachers and 11 support staff that go there every day.

Thank you for standing with our brothers and sisters in the Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East, and for your tireless support of ABM AID as we celebrate 175 years of service. Even when the world seems daunting, your practical and prayerful care reminds us that there is love, hope and justice.
