Inclusive Community Program
The Church of Melanesia recognises that the key to improving governance is education and training around decision making, leadership and participation to increase the communities’ capacity for self reliance, peace and poverty reduction. The Church views the Inclusive Community Program (ICP) as a way to address the different cultural values and structure especially around the central role of the system of Chiefs in Vanuatu.
ICP training workshops will include chiefs, priests, men, women and youth within the parishes and at regional level.
Here are some of the ways your gift will be used:
- $500 will help pay for materials for use in the ICP training workshops
- $800 will help in printing ICP manuals for use in the community leadership training
- $1,000 will help facilitate workshops on anger management and conflict resolution to encourage peaceful problem-solving processes rather than engaging in violence
- $1,500 will enable the local women and youth to participate in community decision-making processes to be able to make better informed choices
We need to raise $30,000* in 2008
