School Girls' Boarding House Project, South Sudan

This project needs $70,000 in 2012.
This building project seeks to house up to 30 female students attending the Juba Diocesan Model Secondary School and will also provide matron’s quarters.
There is a great need for the boarding facility for girls. The girls who currently attend the school have their performance severely hampered by the demands of domestic chores after school. So this boarding house will provide the girls with a quiet space with no domestic demands placed on them during their school terms.
There will be a dormitory with a kitchen, common room, bathroom and toilets, in a self-contained, fenced area close to the school. It will be furnished with bunk beds, tables and chairs. It is envisaged this first building will form part of a much larger girls boarding facility as time goes on.
This will also assist with the increasing demand for places at the school as people continue to migrate south from the north and come into Juba.
The school currently has about 375 students, 58% boys and 42% girls who all pay fees, although some are subsidised.
Please support this building project and these young girls so that they too can achieve an education and build equality in their country.
