Anglicare StopAIDS

Anglicare StopAIDS is one of the frontline Non Government Organisations (NGOs) in PNG fighting the AIDS epidemic. ABM continues to build and strengthen the capacity of the organisation to be able to implement and manage comprehensive HIV and AIDS programs.

The Anglicare StopAIDS Port Moresby, Popondetta and Mt Hagen Centres conduct Peer Education training, provide prevention and awareness information, condom distribution, drama groups, work place intervention and Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT). These services aim to empower the communities affected and infected with HIV to realise their full potential and bring about positive change. Anglicare StopAIDS has identified the need to expand its work in the Mt Hagen area to provide broad access to HIV and AIDS information, treatment and materials.

(Supporting AusAid funds, through the PNG Church Partnership Program and PNG Australian Sexual Health Improvement Program, are also contributing to the Anglicare StopAIDS Program).

Here are some of the ways your gift will be used:

• $10,000 will help ABM support the National Director of StopAIDS
• $7,000 will help maintain the role of the Manager of the Anglicare StopAIDS Port Moresby Centre
• $5,000 will pay for the work expansion required in the Anglicare StopAIDS Mt Hagen Centre
