Institutional Strengthening
ABM is working collaboratively with the Anglican Church of Papua New Guinea (ACPNG) to integrate and build local resources to ensure projects sustainability. MYOB (an accounting package) training aims to equip the diocese account clerks and administration staff with accounting skills.
This enables them to increase their knowledge of financial management and accountability thereby simplifying administration work and making transactions easier to record.
In addition, ABM supports activities to empower local communities to realise their potential, especially women, assisting in them acquiring skills such as sewing, to help them generate income for their families.
This program is also focussing on strengthening the capacity of the senior management of ACPNG to be able to develop strong links with both the staff and local communities in order to increase service delivery.
(Supporting AusAID funds, through the PNG Church Partnership Program, are also contributing to the ACPNG Institutional Strengthening Program).
Here are some of the ways your gift will be used:
- $1,500 will help provide 2 weeks of MYOB Training for ACPNG account clerks in Mt Hagen
- $5,000 will help provide much needed essential training which will project the diocese toward a positive future
- $1,000 will support 1 Senior Management Team Meeting
- $6,000 will help maintain a Project Development Officer (PDO) Finance position for 6 months
We need to raise $15,000* in 2008
