Imagine up to 500 Indigenous people camped on a river bank, enjoying fellowship through singing and listening to Christian speakers. This has been taking place in Gilgandra, Brewarrina and Moree among other areas as part of the outreach to Indigenous communities. The Rev’d Gloria Shipp is the co-ordinator of this outreach program and works in an honorary capacity to bring hope to many Indigenous people in the central west of NSW. In 2008, ABM hopes to support Gloria as she seeks to extend the activities currently offered to Indigenous people. This will include safe houses for children, house church and park church services, assistance for young people to enter vocational training and pastoral care for older people. As Gloria says this is “an holistic ministry to all aspects of the lives of Indigenous people in the central west.”
We need to raise $25,000 in 2008
