This project needs $50,000 in 2012.
In the Solomon Islands, work is being conducted on integrated disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation in remote, lowlying areas. Our Partner, the Anglican Church of Melanesia, is working with communities to determine what their greatest risks are so they can best prepare for rising tides and potential natural disasters.
This is an example of the work that can be done when ABM is able to support our overseas partners in helping to prepare churches and communities for disasters which may occur.
Disasters may include natural disasters such as floods, typhoons, cyclones and landslides or situations such as war or community violence.
By supporting this project you will assist ABM’s partners in preparing safety action plans, conducting safety training with communities and adapting their work or environment to make them safer in instances of a disaster.
Donations to this program are tax deductible.
