The Auxiliary of ABM celebrated its centenary in 2010.

It began in Sydney in July 1910, starting off as the Women's Auxiliary of ABM for the purpose of keeping church women informed about ABM, its aims and plans, and also to enlist their support. This first meeting was presided over by the wife of the Governor, Lady Chelmsford.

The ABM Auxiliary prays for, promotes and supports the work of ABM. Membership of the Auxiliary is open to all members of the Anglican Church.

In 1965 the Central Council established “Special Projects”, where a project would be the focus of prayer and fundraising for the following year. Over the years the Auxiliary has raised over one million dollars! Today this tradition continues to be the Auxiliary’s major activity in supporting ABM.

2012 National Auxiliary Project

The ABM National Auxiliary Project for 2012 is Gender and Governance Initiative in Zambia. Read about the project and perhaps you may be inspired to contribute in your own way, through prayer, support, volunteering or sharing the information with others!

ABM's Auxiliary has groups in most dioceses and it is a great way to meet people whilst also helping the church to further its work in mission. If you would like to become a member please contact us to find out who your nearest Auxiliary Representative is.

ABM's Auxiliary Prayer:

Eternal and loving God, your Son Jesus Christ has taught us that it is in giving our life in service for the Gospel that we find it. Bless all members of the Auxiliary: inspire us by your spirit, fill us with your love, that we may serve your people and work for the extension of your kingdom. We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
