Millennium Development Goals
The eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) are part of the Millennium Declaration of the United Nations which was signed in 2000 by all of the members of the United Nations. The MDGs have galvanized unprecedented efforts to meet the needs of the world’s poorest by governments, non-government organisations, multi-lateral institutions, religious organisations, and individuals.
ABM is working together with many other government and non-government organisations to meet these goals.
The Millenium Development Goals
- Goal 1. Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
- Goal 2. Achieve universal primary education
- Goal 3. Promote gender equality and empower women
- Goal 4. Reduce child mortality
- Goal 5. Improve maternal health
- Goal 6. Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases
- Goal 7. Ensure environmental sustainability
- Goal 8. Develop a global partnership for development
ABM is working with our Partners to contribute to the achievement of the MDGs, through programs in water security, literacy and education, primary health care, sustainable agricultural development, and HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment.
In addition, we are exploring ways of reducing our own environmental footprint, and developing global partnerships which assist in the alleviation of poverty.
